soup kitchen volunteer - 文化差異

事情是這樣的，我們班上有同學發起了volunteer at soup kitchen

就是去教堂煮湯發送給遊民的愛心活動

但是下面有人回說

you are a good guy for suggesting we do this.
A suspiciously nice person... what's your angle in all this?
What are you up to Mr. Nice Guy?
I'll volunteer to be a wheel man for whatever scheme you've cooked up,
but just know I ain't going back to prison.

這樣不是等於潑了他一桶冷水嗎？

還是有些外國人對於這種活動就是反感？

抑或是根本這個回應的人自己心裡有鬼？？
